Coastal Landscape in Blue

There is nothing quite like a calm, smooth coastal channel early in the morning or at dusk… almost like glass; reflections like a mirror. Versatile enough to display in your home all year, but wintery enough to nod to the quiet escape.

The landscape is created by using various colors of compressed glass powders and fired carefully in a glass kiln.  The firing schedule keeps the glass very thin.....like a wafer.  I then clean up the edges, place it on the Dusty Blue background glass, and then re-fire enough to fuse it to the base glass.   The panel is then mounted onto a wood base which has been burnt with a torch.  This burning brings out the texture of the wood.

Wall tile is backed with a unique mounting system that allows for easy and sturdy installation.
